About Pickle For Parkinson's
Our Organizers
Ranya Shah
Parkinson's Disease has greatly affected my life, as my grandma has been living with the condition for several years. Watching someone so close to myself struggle with this progressive illness has been very eye-opening, and spurred me to take action. This fundraiser is a way of honoring my grandma and supporting others who struggle with this illness.

I first learned about Parkinson's disease when I became an intern at SteadyScrib, a Northwestern based startup focused on creating a pen that would allow Parkinson's patients to regain the ability to write. My time working at SteadyScrib helped me understand the disease and the daily challenges people with the disease face. My grandmother experiences tremors in her hand similar to those of a Parkinson's patient and has regained her ability to write with their product. To combat this currently incurable disease I started Pickle for Parkinson's to raise money to fund groundbreaking research, life-changing programs, and community outreach efforts. Our Logo
The Pickle for Parkinson's logo is a artistic banner with elements that represent both pickleball and Parkinson's Disease. The pickleball and pickleball paddles represents the pickleball aspect of the fundraiser. The "A" in Parkinson's is designed to resemble a grey ribbon, which is the ribbon used to promote awareness within the global Parkinson's community.
